Detailing
Why a Full Detail Before Selling Can Change Your Sale Price
20 April 2026
Buyers decide how they feel about a car in the first thirty seconds — before they've checked the service history or taken it for a drive. Swirl marks, cloudy headlights and a musty interior all read as 'poorly maintained,' even if the car has been mechanically looked after.
A full detail starts with a foam pre-wash to lift dirt and brake dust off the paint without dragging grit across it, followed by a clay bar pass to pull out embedded contamination a normal wash misses, then a machine polish to cut back light swirl marks and restore gloss.
Interior gets the same level of attention — carpets, seats and trim are deep cleaned, and the panel gaps and vents that a quick vacuum skips are gone through by hand.
None of this is about hiding problems. It's about presenting the car as well cared-for as it actually is, which is usually worth more to a buyer than the cost of the detail itself.
